Preparation is the key to help your make up sit beautiful on your face. You could buy the most expensive products available but if you haven’t prepped your face first, then they will never look their best.

Matte lips are so in at the moment, and the key to make these look good on you, is to prep your lips first. My favourite thing to use is a lip scrub. It removes all of the dry, dead skin from your lips, leaving them smooth for the lipstick to go on perfectly.

I’ve been trying to create my own recently using store cupboard essentials. Here is my brown sugar lip scrub…

Ingredients

• 1 tsp brown sugar
• 1 tsp coconut oil
• 1 tsp honey

Method

Mix all the ingredients together and dot a small amount on your lips and rub them together, for a minute, then rinse your lips with water. This will leave your lips feeling amazing.
