Turkey burgers are a great alternative to a beef burger, they are much lower in fat and if cooked right can be so juicy and delicious.
You can still add the same toppings as you would with a usual burger, such as cheese, or bacon or bbq. I like mine with some sliced avocado on top. it’s so delicious.
Prep time: 5 mins
Cooking time 10-15 mins
Serves: 2
Ingredients
- 500g 2% fat turkey mince
- 2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1tsp sweet smoked paprika
- 1tsp cumin
- pinch of salt and pepper
Method
In a large bowl combine with your hands the turkey mince and spices until throughly mixed.
I find the mixture is usually quite sticky so you won’t need an egg, if it seems too wet add a sprinkle of breadcrumbs to help.
Form the mince into patties, and fry on a medium heat with a splash of oil to stop them from sticking.
Once browned on all sides, put the lid on the pan and allow to steam, to make sure the inside is cooked all the way through.
Once nearly cooked you can add some cheese and allow to melt.
Enjoy xxx
